Undergraduate courses in Dental Hygiene and Dental Nursing at the University of Portsmouth, as well as the career pathways open to students.
You’ll find out about three courses, and most importantly, the admissions process:
BSc (Hons) Advanced Dental Nursing
On this course, students will gain the essential knowledge in dental nursing procedures and techniques, which will then be turned into practical skills by working as part of a team to provide dental care and oral health promotion to patients in the community.
BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene
If students want a career as a dental hygienist, working as a crucial part of the dental team to treat and prevent oral disease, then this course is the course for them.
BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy
Students will develop skills that allow them to complete treatments on patients, such as fillings, radiographs and impressions. They will study and develop their skills alongside other members of the dental team.
You’ll also learn about the National Health Service (NHS) values and constitution, and how these are embedded into all our Health and Social care courses.
